The 13th edition of the Sustainability Talks Series will focus on the future of agriculture and food within the framework, extending from the crisis conditions aggravated by the pandemic to potential post-pandemic scenarios. Our invitees are Dr. Atakan Büke, an independent researcher at Yerküre Local Studies Cooperative, and Dr. Aylin Topal, a faculty member at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Middle East Technical University. The talk will be moderated by Dr. Lecturer Faik Gür from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Özyeğin University. The topics of discussions include the following:
Under what conditions and in which conjecture was the agriculture-food system caught by the pandemic?How does the pandemic affect the production, circulation, and consumption patterns in the field of agriculture-food? How may the pandemic break these patters down? What type of relationship is there between the pandemic and the global crisis?How do international actors such as G20 participants, OECD, World Bank, and FAO read this process? What do they recommend? How do they define the crisis? How does the mainstream media perceive the ongoing problems?What kind of package of measures do governments introduce in the field of agriculture?Is a new publicity possible in the post-pandemic period?
